What blasting needs
Blasting abrasive must be dry, dust-free and screened to a narrow fraction, usually from a few tenths of a millimetre up to about 1 to 1.5 mm, depending on the nozzle and the surface. Moist sand clogs the blaster.
Natural sand contains crystalline silica. The dust created when blasting is harmful to the lungs, which is why many companies use silica-free mineral abrasives instead. With sand, respiratory protection under health and safety rules is a must.
What we offer
Washed Vistula sand 0/4, in bulk and moist, straight from the stockpile. Fines are only 0.4 % and 85.7 % of the mass is grains of 0.25 to 1 mm, so after drying and screening off the fraction above 1 mm a large part of the material falls into a typical abrasive range.
We do not dry, grade or bag, and we have no SiO2 analysis. This offer is for plants that produce abrasives or dry mixes and have their own dryer and screens.
- fraction 0/4 mm, washed, moist
- 85.7 % of grains 0.25 to 1 mm, fines 0.4 %
- no drying or bagging
- large volumes, loading with weighing at the pit
When it makes sense
If you dry sand yourself and need a steady, clean raw material in large volumes, write to us. You are welcome to visit the pit and see the sand.
If you need a few bags of dry abrasive for a blaster, buy a ready product from an abrasives shop. We will not pretend our material replaces it.
Questions and answers
Can I blast with this sand straight away?
No. The sand is moist and 0/4. It has to be dried and screened first.
Do you sell sand in bags?
No, only in bulk, invoiced by the tonne.
Is blasting with sand safe?
Sand dust contains crystalline silica, which is harmful when inhaled. Use respiratory protection and follow safety rules, or choose a silica-free abrasive.
