Why washed sand
Bedding and pipe surround must drain and compact well. Dust and clay hold water and can cause frost heave.
Our sand has 0.4 % fines and SE4 90. More than 85 % of the mass is grains of 0.25 to 1 mm. Bulk density is 1.59 Mg/m3 loose and 1.80 Mg/m3 compacted. It is CE marked to EN 12620.
Volume for large contracts
The deposit lies in the Vistula riverbed and all equipment works on site: a cutter suction dredger (about 330 t/h), a service boat, an excavator and a loader with a scale. We are looking for contractors who need regular supply over a whole project.
Price: PLN 30 per tonne net below 1,000 t, PLN 27 per tonne from 1,000 t, loading included; large contracts are quoted individually. The buyer arranges transport by truck or by ship from Gdansk, 55 km away. You are welcome to visit the pit.
Questions and answers
How much fits on one truck?
That depends on the truck's payload and permitted weight. We load with a scale, so you set the load to the reading of the loader scale.
Can it be used under paving?
Yes, as bedding. The sand is washed, low in fines and compacts well. For jointing, some contractors prefer dried sand, which we do not offer.
